Mike Bachman Plumbing | Locally Owned & Operated Utah Plumber

At Mike Bachman Plumbing, we do one thing—and we do it right.
We only do plumbing.

Why?

The latest trend in the service industry is to be an “all-in-one” company—plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical all under one roof. So why would we choose to focus on just plumbing?

Because plumbing is what we know.

My name is Vic Bachman. I am a 5th-generation plumber, and I grew up in the plumbing industry. I completed my plumbing apprenticeship from 1989–1993, earned my Journeyman license, then went on to receive my Master Plumber license and Plumbing Contractor license.

In the state of Utah, you are required to complete an apprenticeship and four years of plumbing school before you are legally allowed to work as a plumber. Electricians are held to the same standard. Licensing matters—it protects homeowners and gives you peace of mind that the work you paid for was done correctly and safely.

The Problem With “One-Stop Shops”

Many large companies today bundle multiple services together and send out “technicians” instead of fully licensed professionals. Often, these technicians are not licensed plumbers or electricians, and certainly not both.

They are frequently paid on commission, which encourages high-pressure sales—pushing replacements instead of repairs, even when a repair would do the job just fine. The focus becomes the bottom line, not long-term customer relationships.

Are They Really Local?

Many of these companies have also been buying up long-standing local businesses. They keep the original company name so it appears they’ve been local for decades—when in reality they are large, out-of-state corporations.

In some cases, multiple “different” companies in the same market are owned by the same parent company, meaning homeowners may unknowingly get multiple bids from the same corporation.

If you’re interested in learning more about this trend, and who owns who, the Utah Plumbing and Heating Contractor Association (UPHCA) has published helpful information on the subject:

Still Local. Still Family-Owned.

Mike Bachman Plumbing is locally owned and operated.

I took over the company from my father, who is still involved, and three of my sons now work in the business. We are proud to keep this company family-owned, independent, and rooted in our local community—keeping jobs and money right here in our economy.

What This Means for You

When you call Mike Bachman Plumbing, you can be confident that:

  • A fully licensed plumber and/or registered apprentice will come to your home
  • The work will be done correctly, safely, and to code
  • We stand behind our work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee

We want to be your plumber—and your family’s plumber—for generations.

We won’t try to sell you a new furnace when you need a water heater. We won’t push an electrical upgrade when we’re replacing a toilet. If something can be repaired, we’ll give you that option.

It’s your home—and you’re in charge.

Plumbing Is All We Do—And That’s the Point

When it comes to plumbing, we know how and what to do—because it’s all that we do.
